Moments I Do Not Want to Forget

Millions of really beautiful heart warming moments each day, here is just a snapshot of a few of my recent favorites!

Walker

Just before his 11 month birthday Gavin decided he was officially done crawling and in addition to walking he started climbing. He is embracing his new independence. The rest of us however...well the picture of Grant's face below sums it up nicely. :)

Sick kiddo :(

Well 10 days after what we thought was food poisoning, Grant got sick. We suspect now it was really a bad stomach virus and not food poisoning. Poor Grant, he was really sick, but such a trooper.

Just before he got the stomach bug he got bit by a mosquito near his eye and had it practically swollen shut for a couple of days. Ugh. (The mosquitos and bugs have been terrible after tropical storm Debby came through.)

So thankful for good health!!

Happy 4th of July

Grant and I made a jello flag cake to celebrate the 4th of July. He really did quite well with the decorating process and was thrilled with the end result. Yummy! (And I might add that after the first bite Jake asked if I got his mom's recipe because it tasted just like hers and the answer is " no-no I did not".)

Water Fun

We had a great "splash park" day today in our own backyard; inflatable pool, sprinkler, and water table. And the day was complete when Lex came over to splash with Grant! A lot of work to clean the water table and set up everything, but I enjoyed surprising Grant and creating a little "magic". Totally worth the work to hear him say "my favorite part of the day was my swimming kool".

Sunday Afternoon Fun

A fun Sunday afternoon outing. A trip through the car wash; entertaining for Grant and a clean car for me. And a walk through the "pet store". Love non hurried Sunday afternoons!

Feeding Birds

Grant had been asking to feed the birds, so Jake took Grant to buy a bird feeder this past weekend. This morning while eating breakfast we watched 3 different birds eat. Beautiful site and a happy boy!

Food Poisoning

I woke up last Wednesday morning vomiting around 5am and within an hour Jake was vomiting. We are thinking we got sick from chicken we ate the night before. Nursing a baby and trying to take care of 2 small children while being sick was not a lot fun.

Hats off to my amazing husband for all he did for the kids while sick, as I could barely move. And a huge thanks to my neighbor for taking the boys for a few hours that night and the next day while I cleaned and disinfected the house.

We lost a combined 18 pounds in one day. And I pray we are never both sick again at the same time!

Sun Country Fun for the Boys

Normally I wear Gavin in the Ergo carrier when we are at Sun Country so I have my hands free to help Grant. Well this past week was the first time that I braved letting Gavin crawl around and play. And just like his big brothers he had a blast! He loved the foam pit and playing with the Hulu hoop. And with Gav looking on Grant unassisted swung from the trapeze bar and jumped into the foam pit. It was a fun morning and I could picture E smiling down in his little brothers.

Big Boy

Gavin is now spending more and more time on his feet. He adores and tries so hard to keep up with his big brother. Less baby like and more toddler like every day.
